An Interview? Already?

Hey there!

Well life has been pretty crazy. Lately it has been nothing but rain clouds over these parts. Classes were canceled on Monday due to the bad weather and on Sunday night my sleep was interrupted by tornado sirens going off at least 5 times. At one point I considered constructing an ark to get to classes, or investing in a good pair of flippers. Finally, the sun has decided to show itself again and I believe we were already for it to return.

Yesterday regardless of the intense down pours, I turned in my research brief and letter of proposal for my senior project. I had two meetings today with my committee and my letter is going through the changes of editing. Our final letters are due on September 4th at 10am so I have a few days to get everything together. I fear this is the deep breath before the plunge because mid-semester review is the 25th giving us only 20 days to touch on every aspect of our project. Basically, I will be living in Wallace so I better find that cot and sleeping bag. I think I might be needing it again.

In addition to the work of senior project, I was notified today by an organization called Student Life based in Birmingham, AL. They are on the hunt for a new graphic designer and one of my old class mates passed along my name. I talked with them on the phone today and have to send my resume as well as dates to set up a time for an interview. That's right, a job interview and it's only 2 weeks into the semester. Pretty crazy right?

This firm is right up my alley - check out their website: www.studentlife.com They focus on youth ministry and as you know, that is something very near and dear to my heart.
I can't really describe just how much their design aesthetic mirrors my own. It's really incredible honestly. I'm eager to meet the staff in person and get a better understanding of what they would expect from a designer.

We'll see what happens! You never know what God has up his sleeve, that's for sure.

For now I have to get ready for devotional at the Student Center, then get a little more work done before the night is over. I was notified this afternoon that I have to be at the coliseum tomorrow morning BEFORE 8am to get my Alabama ticket. Ugh. I'm sorry, but after my decision to stop drinking caffeine anything before 9am is a challenge. Wish me luck!

As always, thanks for stopping by.
